<p>Complexes of ca. 1 mole amphotericin B (I) with ca. 0.5-20 moles of an anion of an opt. hydroxy-substd. =20C alkanoic acid or a (2-4C alkylene)diaminetetraacetic acid and/or ca. 0.2-0.8 (esp. 0.5) mole of Ca ions, have the same fungicidal activity as (I) while having better water solbility. They can be added to drinking water to control fungal infections in the digestive system of poultry. They are pref. prepd. by adding the acid and/or a ca salt to a soln. of (I) in an alcohol contg. =1% H2O.</p> |
