Phenolic resin-based mixture - for protecting wooden foundry models

The mixt. comprises a cold polymsg. phenolic resin, 6-10 vol % of a catalyst for the resin and 5-12 vol % inert prods. such as SiO2 flour, talc and graphite. Pref. the mixt. contains as setting retarder methylated spirit in amt. 20-100 vol %. The mixt. is applied in several layers onto the wooden model after each preceding layer has been dried and pumiced. Treated models may be reused many more times than those which have not been treated.
