1336340 Stand heads R E MILLER PTY Ltd 11 Nov 1971 [18 May 1971] 52487/71 Heading A4H [Also in Division F2] A mounting assembly for an instrument or machine to be panned comprises a housing 2 having a shank 3 for securing on a support a cylindrical body 5 rotatably mounted in housing 2 with a clearance such that an oil film in housing bore 6 exercises a viscous drag when body 5 is rotated in housing 2, a cylindrical body 14 coaxially secured to body 5, and a housing 18 having holes 20 whereby equipment to be panned can be mounted and in which body 14 is relatively rotatable. Housing 18 is locked to body 14 by a brake (26, 27). Bodies 14, and 5 have recesses in which are mounted fibre or felt pads 21, 22 and an oil distribution plate 8, the housings 2, 18 being sealed in a fluid-tight manner by covers 10, 23 and the dimensions being such that bodies 5, 14 are restrained against axial movement. The recesses in body 14 may be provided by separate sleeve 17. Grease can be used between parts 14, 18. |
