<p>1336902 Sliding door operating mechanism BECKER EQUIPMENT & LIFTS Ltd 14 April 1972 [28 Jan 1971 11 Oct 1971] 3415/71 and 47292/71 Heading E2M [Also in Division B8] A sliding door operating mechanism comprises an A.C. linear induction motor having a part 5 movable along a track 2 and adapted to be connected to a door 3, and damping means for braking the movable part at at least one end of its travel. A striker 22 on carriage 1 carrying the movable part is arranged move one of the strikers 18, 19 at the end of its travel, and thus to move rod 15, which is connected by arm 20 to rotary hydraulic damper 21, braking the carriage; it then contacts a limit switch 25 to switch off the motor. The carriage is also damped throughout its motion by a further rotary hydraulic damper 13 connected to the carriage by a sprocket chain 8. In a lift system having the operating mechanism mounted on the lift car, damper 21 may be replaced by a damper (43), Fig. 4 (not shown) on a door (40) of a landing, the door (40) having a projection (45) which engages a vertical channel in the lift car door when the car is at that landing.</p> |
