A lap joint is formed with the strip between the lap layers. The strip is brought to melt temp. by a hot air stream and then quickly rolled in by cold rollers. The resulting joint may, with thin materials, show an increased thickness which may be avoided however with >7 mm. thick matting, but there is no alteration of surface structure. |
