1340294 Blood composition BASF WYANDOTTE CORP 21 June 1972 [14 July 1971] 29094/72 Heading A5B A blood composition is stabilized for shelfstorage by the addition of from 10% to 20% (by volume of blood) of an anticoagulant and from 0.1 to 10% (weight/volume of anticoagulant) of a polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene block copolymer of the formula HO(C 2 H 4 O) b (C 3 H 6 O) a (C 2 H 4 O) b H wherein a is an integer such that the hydrophobe base represented by (C 3 H 6 O) has a molecular weight of from 950 to 4000 and b is an integer such that the hydrophile portion represented by (C 2 H 4 O) constitutes from 50% to 90% by weight of the copolymer.
