<p>Cpds. of formula (I) are new; (A= H or opt. branched alkyl (1-5C) opt. substd. with one or more hydroxyl groups). Acid-addition salts of (I) with pharmaceutically-acceptable organic- or inorganic acids are included. (I) have anti-inflammatory- and analgesic activity with low toxicity and very low ulcerogenic properties. The activity of (I) is higher than that of N-(m-trifluoromethylphenyl)anthranilic acid (A) and N-(m-trifluoromethylthiophenyl)anthranilic acid (B). using very large excess of (IV) at 100 degrees C for one or more hours. (I) may be used in pharmaceutical formulations together with suitable excipients for oral or rectal administration in the form of tablets, pills, cachets etc. at 100-500mg. each and at a daily dose of 100-2000 mg. Suppositories contain 100-500 mg. each and are given 1-3 times per 24 hrs.</p> |
