<p>Title compsns. contain (1) epoxy, acrylic or polyester resins as film-forming binder (I), (2) 0.005-2.0 wt.% (on binder) of an acrylic (co)polymer (II) flow promoter which hinders the formation of pinholes, (3) pigments and opt. (4) Al powder. The compsns. are produced by adding 0-1 wt.% (esp. 0-0.2 wt.%) (on binder) of (II) to the other components before a first mixing stage in which the mixture is compounded in the melt (e.g. in an extruder), after which the mixture is cooled and compounded, pref. in the form of a milled powder with a particle size of 100-600 mu, with a further amount of 0.01-0.2 wt.% (on binder) of (II) and opt. with 0.1-5 wt.% (on total mixture) of Al. The two-stage mixing of the flow promoter gives powder costing compsns. which can be applied by electrostatic spray or fluidized bed and which on fusion give excellent hammer finishes.</p> |
