1350353 Fluorinated aromatic isocyanates BAYER AG 6 July 1972 [6 July 1971] 31679/72 Heading C2C The invention comprises the compounds 3,3<SP>1</SP> - bis - (trifluoromethyl) - 4,4<SP>1</SP> - diisocyanatodiphenyl difluoromethane, 2,4 - bis - (trifluoromethyl) - phenyl isocyanate, 2,5 - bis - (trifluoromethyl) - phenyl isocyanate, and 2,4- bis - (trifluoromethyl) - phenyl - 1,5 - diisocyanate. These and other side-chain-fluorinated aromatic isocyanates are prepared by heating trichloromethyl phenyl isocyanates with antimony trifluoride in the absence of a solvent. Preferred trichloromethyl phenyl isocyanates have the general Formula (I) wherein m is 0, 1 or 2, n and p are each 1 or 2, X is halogen and R is hydrogen, phenyl, halophenyl, phenyl substituted by p-isocyanate groups and n-trichloromethyl groups, or dichloromethyl phenyl. |
