1350757 Triazine-stilbene derivatives IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 26 April 1971 [18 May 1970] 23954/70 Heading C2C [Also in Division D1] An optical brightening agent composition which comprises a mixture of three components each having the Formula I or water soluble salts thereof, wherein each group R, which may be the same or different is a C 1 -C 4 alkyl ; each R1 is a group of the Formula II wherein R2 is an alkyl or alkenyl group, optionally substituted by a hydroxyl, alkoxy or cyano group, R3 is a hydrogen atom or a group R2, and R4 is an aryl group, optionally substituted by C 1 -C 4 alkyl, C 1 -C 4 alkoxy, cyano, or a halogen atom, the first component having both groups R1 of type III, the second component having both R1 groups of type II, and the third component having one R1 of type II and the other of type III, are prepared by reacting cyanuric chloride successively with an alcohol, ROH 4,41 - diaminostilbene - 2,21 - disulphonic acid and a mixture of two amines R2R3NH and R2R4NH.
