<p>Aerosols suitable for inhalation by humans contain (a) prostaglandins (pref. prostaglandin E compounds) such as prostaglandins and/or analogues and derivs. thereof and/or cyclodextrin clathrates of these cpds and/or the non-toxic salts of the prostagladins and/or their analogues, and (b) a pharmaceutically acceptable liquid medium which is suitable for oral administration (pref. ethanol, aqueous ethanol or water), together with (c) a carbohydrate such as sucrose, fructose, maltose, glucose, xylose, mannose, xylitol and/or mannitol and, opt. (d) cinnamon oil or peppermint oil. Prostaglandins are useful in the treatment of hypertension, thrombosis, asthma and gastrointestinal ulcers, in the induction of labour, in the induction of abortion and for inhibiting arteriosclerosis.</p> |
