<p>The chips fall through an inlet into the end of a cylindrical mixing chamber which they enter through peripheral holes in a rotating baffle plate. This baffle has inner holes for air. The chips are immediately thrown out into an annular layer by the chamber wall, where they remain because of rotating mixing blades, until they reach the outlet. Whilst in the chamber, liquid adhesive is injected. Undesirable air passes back to the inlet through the inner holes in the baffle, thus preventing wear on the mixing blades or the components at the inlet.</p> |
