The locking unit pivots on an axis between the surface of the poles of the electro-magnets, and at the beginning of the selection point, the gap between the operative pole surface and the pivoting axis of the locking unit is increased. The systems gives low-cost circular knitting machine components, as they are not machined to fine tolerances, without wear which increases component life.
