<p>The normal hydraulic cell used on weighbridges tends to jam when the weighing platform deforms under a moving load. The platform proposed has a chamfered edge to avoid this. Preferably the outer edge of the platform is formed as a segment of a sphere with the top, next to the load surface, being smaller than the bottom which rests on the usual membrane. The housing also has the sides opposed to the weighing platform shaped in a spherical form with the same centre taken, the sphere thus being of bigger radius. It is claimed that the usual gap can be made much smaller, thus avoiding trouble from objects falling down the slot.</p> |
