A data acquisition system includes a master station serving as a data acquisition device, and a plurality of slave stations serving as a plurality of terminal devices. The master station acquires data from the plurality of slave stations, and provides the data to an upper-level server (upper-level device). The master station includes a data acquisition unit which acquires data from the plurality of slave stations, and a time cycle setting unit which sets a data acquisition time cycle for the data acquisition unit to periodically acquire data from the plurality of slave stations. The data acquisition time cycle has a data acquisition required time period for acquiring data from the plurality of slave stations, and a time period during which the upper-level server can perform communications. The time cycle setting unit sets the data acquisition time cycle on the basis of at least one of information held in the data acquisition device and relating to communications between the master station and the plurality of terminal devices, and information relating to communications by the upper-level device. |
