<p>1374242 Golf club trollies J M WORTHING- TON 16 March 1972 [20 Dec 1970] 55179/70 Heading B7B [Also in Division A6] A transportable golf-club holder comprises a rigid container 10 provided with a plurality of tubes 12 which receive the shanks of the golfclubs and maintain them in spaced apart relation, means 28, 32 for rotatably mounting one or more ground-engaging wheels 31 and a flexible cover 15. As shown, the tubes 12 are disposed in two nested rows, studs 9 locating in holes 8 in the container 10, and are in registration with holes 41 in a flexible cover 40 which may be of natural or synthetic rubber. The cover 40 has separating portions 43 between which golf-club heads are received. The flexible cover 15 is attached to the container 10 by projecting rods 18 which locate in holes 20 and the sides 16 may be glued to container side walls 17. Strips 22 of the cover material which fix the rods 18 in place also form individual pockets accessible by means of zip fasteners 21. The container 10 has ribs and grooves 13 to provide increased rigidity and a rod 25 is attached to the container wall by brackets 24 one of which also receives removable wheel-mounting assemblies 32. This bracket 24 carries exteriorly threaded bosses 28 each having therein a transverse peg (30) (Fig. 2, not shown) which co-operates with a groove 33 in the end of the wheel mounts 32 to prevent relative rotation of these parts. A nut (38) having an internal shoulder is screwed on the boss 28 and the shoulder abuts a circlip (34) on the mounts 32 to attach the wheels to the boss 28 and bracket 24. The tube 25 receives a telescopic handle 26 and a wire-framed cover 45 is pivotally mounted in holes 48 to act as a rain-shield. The rigid part 10 of the container may be of moulded fibre glass or plastics such as ABS.</p> |
