Hypnotics contain 10-200 mg (pref. 50-100 mg) of thioidazin (I) (3-methylthio-10-(beta-(1-methyl-4-piperidyl)ethyl)phenothiazine) or an equiv. amt of its acid addn. salt. (I) restores the normal balance of paradoxal sleep (i.e. sleep with REM) to non-paradoxal sleep after consumption of alcohol or drugs, thus helping to prevent hangover. |
