A 3-layer laminate comprises a thin lead sheet, as core, having adhesively bonded thereto, on both sides, some highly porous and elastic matl. e.g., an open-cell polyester, polyether, polyurethane foam, or mineral wool. That outer layer nearest a source of noise may be thicker than the layer furthest away from it. The claimed prodt. may be applied over uneven or irregular surfaces, owing to the suppleness of the lead core and the resilience of the outer laminae.
