Solid carbon dioxide mfd from liquified natural gas - in a process which requires no outside energy supply

Solid CO2 is produced from LNG in a process involving the combustion of the natural gas. The LNG is vapourised and burned and the prods. of the combustion are passed through several towers. The first tower cools the gas, the second tower cools and removes solids and the third tower absorbs the CO2 from the gases. The soln. contg. the absorbed CO2 is used as the cooling medium in the first tower, thus liberating the CO2. From the first tower the CO2 passes through a condenser and drier to a cold box where it is solidified. The ehat taken out of the CO2 gas is used to vapourise the LNG. Process requires no external energy and produces cheap dry ice.
