A safety harness for a young child travelling in a car. The child is held securely but has some limited movement. Springs and an elasticated section of the safety belt act as shock absorbers. The child wears a safety vest fastened up at the front and fitted with reinforcing straps meeting in a fixed loop at the back. Around the car seat is a belt (11) fitted with a safety buckle (10) holding the fixing loop of the safety vest. In the belt is an elasticated section (13) and two arms with shock absorbing springs (12) fix the belt to the car body (C, D).
