Method of assembling seats using several blocks - uses complementary male and female elements at edges of blocks

The blocks are formed from e.g., foam and are supported by springs. To adjacent edges of the blocks are secured male and female plastic strips either by sewing or high frequency welding. One example of the male and female elements is shown with a generally cylindrical section and a lower longitudinal slit whose edges have a pair of internal radial projections. The male element has a generally cylindrical form with longitudinal grooves which receive the radial projections to provide a secure assembly. The female element generally has a horizontal flange by which it is attached to its block, while the male element has a vertical flange.
