Safety binding for skis - releases boot at tip and heel, upwards and sidewards

The binding has a release mechanism, consisting of a rigid arm, held by pins, which can move upwards, but is held rigidly sideways. A double linkage rod with transverse head and curved sections is pivoted on the double arm. A stationary axis is axially guided in the double arm, and the curved sections engage in it. A double tension spring is located between the axis, in the front part of an extended double arm. The jaws support themselves, via a guide roller a slide surface of low friction, on a sloping guide surface, so that they move sidewards in a horizontal direction. In normal position, and during upward movement, the jaws are pressed against contact surfaces on an extended angular bearing block, and the extended double arm. The double arm carries a pin, engaging in a recess in the block, and guided by it during upward movement. The jaws carry exchangeable front guide sections. A raised intermediate layer is located below the block, for arrangement without these guide sections, at the heel of a ski boot.
