Chemically hardened cellular-concrete partition walls - with use of pulverulent mixt. of ferrosilicon and calcium silicide as hardener

By this method, the autoclave hardening is eliminated, whereby partition walls as large as desired can be cast in situ. The compsn. is sufficiently fluid to ensure elimination of cavities without any vibration treatment. Pipes, electric cables etc. can be incorporated without any pretreatment. The shrinkage is very small. The partition walls so produced do not require any surface treatment. The compsn comprises (in kg. per m3 of concrete): cement 300-450, sand 250-550, Al powder 0.4-0.7, ferrosilicon, calcium silicide and opt. silicides of rare earth elements 7-10; water is added in an amt. such that the water:cement ratio is 0.5-0.6. Vermiculite can be added for sound-damping.
