摘要 1443833 Wire tinning system SIEMENS AG 17 Jan 1974 [29 March 1973] 02324/74 Heading C7F The uniformity of coating in a wire tinning system is controlled by placing the wire in tension during the tinning process, coating thickness being determined by wire speed and melt temperature. In a wire tinning system, wire 2 is drawn from a feed reel 1 over rollers 8 in to a degreaser 4, rinsed 5, flushed 7 and further rinsed 5' and passed into a flux bath 11 over a secondary driven roller 9. The fluxed wire is then passed over rollers 12, 12' downwards into a heated tinning bath 13, over an immersed guide roller 16 and pulled upwards out of the bath through an adjustable wire centring device 33 and protective chamber 28 by main roller 17 driven by an adjustable speed motor 18 prior to reeling on a driven take-up reel 32. The main roller 17 is driven at a predetermined slightly higher speed than the secondary roller 9 so that wire 2 is always in tension during its passage through tinning bath 13, and the outlet "cone" 26, within the protective chamber 28 remains constant to maintain uniformity of coating. The coating thickness is controlled by wire speed through the system and by bath 13 temperature. The protective chamber 28 is supplied with a flux i.e zinc chloride, to lower the surface tension of the tinning material and reduce oxidation, and intermediate between guide 16 and main roller 17 are a pair of rollers 37, 38 together with a 'floating' roller 19 which is electrically connected to motor 18 and compensates for variations in pre-set wire tensions.
