A spreader bar is held in a horizontal position by sets of parallel spacer arms. These are attached to pivot blocks under the ceiling or roof. A control rope attached to the centre of the spreader is taken to a pulley to one side under the ceiling and down to an anchorage point. The ring ropes also pass over ceiling and down to an anchorage point. The ring ropes also pass over ceiling pulleys to anchorage points at one end. They pass freely through holes in the spreader bar. The system allows the rings to be suspended at the required height above the floor and the position of the spreader bar controls the length of free ring ropes regardless of the height of the ceiling.
