Sealing ring with T-section metal core - has rubber coating with corner lobes and exposed metal faces

The core is in the form of a metallic ring of inverted T section. This ring is moulded into the rubber, the base of its leg being level with its outer periphery and the ends of its arms being level with the sides of the seal. Cut-outs in the ribs ensure the continuity of the seal. The outer corners of the seal extend axially past the core side and radially past the outer surface. The continuation of the seal is formed into a flexible lobe at its inner surface. By applying axial pressure to the seal the outer corners expand radially to the sliding piston with no deformation resulting from the cylinder seal.
