<p>A concrete pump has a sloping hopper which delivers material into a reciprocating distributor (4) with an open mouth which discharges the material horizontally into one of a pair of tubes (1, 1a) each containing a piston (2, 2a) so that as the piston (2) in that tube moves outward, it sucks the material inwards into the mouth of the pipe (1). This distributor is supported on a rotating base which is oscillated by a pair of pneumatic pistons underneath the casing, the upper part of the distributor, and the base forming its lower part, being supported by sealing rings to exclude harmful grit and water. As the distributor pivots about a vertical axis, the pistons are reversed, the charge is forced past the distributor and out through the discharge nozzle (8) while the other piston (2a) draws in a fresh charge ready for the next cycle. Clamping rods (29) form a quick release system for separating portions of the casing for cleaning.</p> |
