<p>The objects being handled may be stacked loosely in a hopper over the handling mechanism and they fed onto a pair of contra-rotating cylinders (1) (1') of suitable material which are at an angle to the horizontal. The direction of rotation of the cylinders is counterclockwise when looking at the left hand cylinder, the cylinders being side by side. The objects are fed in at the higher end and, by rolling, finish up at the lower end. The objects are then transferred to two consecutive stages of pairs of endless belts. The second stage travels faster than the first stage, in order to separate the objects. All speeds may be regulated as required by the production rates.</p> |
