The ignition switch has its base-plate fixed in the housing and a contact disc rotatable in parallel manner relative the base-plate. The latter carries contact pins, protruding on the side away from the contact disc and connected on the other side with contact segments co-operating with the contact disc. Each contact pin forms a homogeneous connection to the respective contact segment. The connection may be formed by welding, pressure welding, or arc welding, in the latter case the contact pin and the segment being connected each to a high capacity current source. The contact pin tip is then pressed against the contact segment.
