Flash socket for miniature camera - is fitted to built-in extension arm for increased objective-bulb distance

The extension arm carries a rotating flash socket for multi flash cubes at one end. The arm is pivoted to the camera body so that it fits flush when not in use. In an alternative construction it is made to slide in and out of the camera body. The extension arm encloses transmission spindles which link the rotating drive mechanism in the camera with the socket and the percussion firing impulse from the striker to the bulb socket. The greater spacing between the flash unit and the camera objective improves the parallax and close-up colour rendering. The design avoids the use of separate small attachments which are tedious to fit and can get lost.
