A completely waterproof watch case can be obtained if the clockwork with the dial is attached to a screwed bottom cover in such a way that it can be removed if the glass is to be removed from its high-pressure fit in the seal by pushing from below. This can be achieved by designing the dial as a central circular disc which is swept by the bands, surrounded by an annular plate which is held against a shoulder by the seal in such a way that it can be shifted sideways slightly to accommodate discrepancies in the fit.
