<p>The antenna for very short wave lengths as used in F.M. or television transmission is designed to overcome the specialisation and inconvenient form of often highly directional quarter wave dipole systems without involving high installation or manufacturing costs. The antenna, for reception or transmission is basically in the form of a helix having between one and ten turns, the wire having a diameter between 1/12 and 1/250 the signal wavelength and the impedance of the antenna being between 0.1 and 100 OHMS. low impedance cable connects the antennae to its transmitter or receiver and has a length equal to or less than an odd number of quarter wave-lengths. A semi-conductor resistance facilitates tuning.</p> |
