Multi-purpose muscular therapy machine - cage contains rails for a carriage braked by elastic cables

The machine uses elastic cables, and incorporates a cage of parallel piped shape with lengthwise rails along which a carriage travels under the actions of the patient. The linear movement of the carriage is braked by the cables, in one direction or the other. Multiple anchoring points can be provided on cage and carriage, allowing the number and pattern of cables to be varied so as to alter the braking force. Where used for therapy of the lower limbs, two pivoting footplates can be mounted on a spindle fixed in various positions along the carriage. Means can be included for locking the footplates to the spindle at any desired angle. Each footplate can have anchorages at each end for cables attached to the cage ends.
