<p>Folding sheet metal to form deep finned sections. Produced in a continuous length and intended for transformer cooling systems. Metal (8) in strip form is fed off a drum (6), passed under a guide roller (9) and into a feed unit (10). This moves the metal forward between two power cylinders (17, 18), one each side, which are used to clamp the strip. The material then passes between the punch (19) and the draw die (20). The finned section is formed by a combination of the controlled movements of both punch and die (19), (20). A head may be incorporated to butt weld sections of strip together, for longer lengths.</p> |
