PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state image pickup device and a driving method for the same that can suppress degradation of image quality caused by blooming while maintaining reliability of a gate insulation film.SOLUTION: A solid-state image pickup device includes: a pixel containing a photoelectric conversion element, a floating diffusion layer, a transfer transistor, a reset transistor, and an amplifying transistor; and a controller that supplies a second voltage to the gate of the reset transistor when the reset transistor is turned on to reset the potential of the floating diffusion layer, supplies a third voltage to the gate of the reset transistor when the amplifying transistor outputs a signal based on the potential of the floating diffusion layer, and supplies a first voltage between the second voltage and the third voltage to the gate of the reset transistor when the photoelectric conversion element accumulates charges.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
