Cam with variable lobe - has common screw connection for angular and radial adjustment of lobe

The cam comprises a carrier to be secured to a shaft by keys. The carrier supports the lobe by means of screws which pass through arcuate slots of the carrier and radial slots of the lobe. Thereby, when the screws are slackened, the lobe can be moved angularly or radially with respct to the axis of the shaft. There may, for example, be fine arcuate slots to allow for arcuate displacement through, say, 50 deg.. The remaing 22 deg. can be accommodated by changing the position of the carrier on the keys. The proposal provides an infinitely variable cam within the constraints mentioned.
