Sunken prefabricated-concrete-component for MV substation - with upwards-open box-type base, two above-ground chambers and roof

The sub station, assembled from prefabricated concrete components, is designed for sinking into the ground with minimal height exposed above ground, to provide protection of the power lead components against dirt and damp, and with easily interchangeable components. The concrete housing comprises a pref. monolithic base unit with a box part open at the top, to accommodate the transformer, and shaped to serve as an oil-collecting vat. On the long side of this there is a chamber above ground for the m.v. equipment and connections, and on the short side it is fronted by a chamber for the power distributor housing. A roof element of reinforced concrete or fibreglass-reinforced plastic is provided on top. In the cable compartment each chamber is fronted by concrete or plastic shaft-cover plates.
