The bracket consists of a spike (2), a junction piece (4) which is quite thin, so as to provide limited plasticity in three degrees of freedom, and a mounting platform (18). Very cheap fabrication is possible, since the bracket can be stamped out of sheet metal and the required right angle between spike and platform made by a simple twist of the junction piece. An extension (6) of the spike forms a head by which the bracket can be hammered into the wall. The flexibility of the junction piece allows alignment of clamp ring (12) and pipe, even with angled spikes. Further freedom for thermal expansion and contraction of the pipes is provided by a rectangular hole (16) or sliding shaft at the collar attachment.
