A drive roller pushes sheets out through a slot in the side of the box. The sheets then pass through a gap between two rollers, this gap being 1 1/2 times the thickness of a single sheet. The lower roller rotates to move the sheet in the required direction, the upper rotates to move the sheet in the direction. As the width of the slot in the box is several times that of the sheet thickness, more than one sheet can be pushed out, but only the bottom one should pass between the pair of rollers. Behind the pair of rollers is a second pair, spring loaded against each other, with sensing and control devices to reverse the drive if the separation between these rollers exceed 1 1/2 times the sheet thickness.
