1315251 Cable controls LAMES SpA 30 April 1971 [25 June 1970] 12442/71 Headings B7E and B7H [Also in Division F4] A manual cable control assembly comprises a body 10 in which is longitudinally slidable a member 12, said member being connected at its respective ends to an operating knob 13 and a cable 14 and formed of an inner metal tie-rod 15 and an outer C-section metal tube 17 insulated from said tie-rod by a sheath 16, there being mounted on the body a pair of contacts 35, 37 connected to an electric supply such that when the knob is pulled out, a circuit is completed through a lamp 24 in the knob by way of contact 35, tube 17, metal nut 18, lamp 24, spring 25, tie-rod 15, metal end element 29 and contact 37, this circuit not being completed when the knob is pushed in since there will be a discontinuity between end element 29 and contact 37. The end of cable 14 is rigid with a cylinder 31 which is freely located within end element 29 and insulated therefrom by bush 33, the free location allowing the member 12 to rotate without twisting of the cable. A sleeve 39 retains the member 12 in a rotated position. A transparent or translucent cap 26 is provided on the end of the knob and may be provided with markings and locked in a predetermined position. |
