<p>Compsn. for currying leather in an aq. bath consists of (I) 25-45 esp. 33-43% hydrocarbon oil, (II) 30-60 esp. 25-40% of a glyceride, natural lecithin, ester of a higher unsatd. carboxylic acid and a 1-4C alcohol, and/or an anionic surfactant having a divalent anion in its hydrophilic gp. (III) 1-10 esp. 2-6% free fatty acids, (IV) 10-20% anionic emulsifier selected from sulphates and sulphonates, and (V) 5-10% nonionic emulsifier. Forms stable emulsions in aqs. baths contg. mineral salts, an aniline dye and formic acid. Gives leather with an excellent colour, suppleness and firmness.</p> |
