Tube expander, has a first rod displaceably received on a chassis with an enlarged end piece and movable through a first tube to widen it. Tube clamp jaws can be applied to the outer periphery of one end of this tube, to hold it fast, and are fitted on the chassis to assume an open position when the enlarged end piece is received within the jaws and abuts them; and assume a clamping position when the end piece is outside the jaws and a first unit on the chassis can move the rod and enlarged end piece through the jaws to open and close them, and the end piece through the tube.
