A cylinder attached to the bed frame at each side has a catch for simultaneously turning both cylinders through the same angle in the same direction, and a disc at the other end of one of the cylinders which can link together the two cylinders. The diameter of the cylinders is such that the patient rolls off the roller inwards and not out of bed. During the rolling movement, it is possible to replace the bedding. The cylinder can be turned from one side by a head crank. The device allows the patient to be turned or the bed remade.
