High speed paper sheet dispenser for office machine - has low inertia friction wheels engaged by selenoid action

The paper supply for a copying or similar office machine is stacked in a tray. The lowest sheet of the stack is in contact with a revolving drum which is located below the leading edge of the stack. An inside rim on either side of the drum drives two friction wheels when they are moved radially outwards. This is achieved by operating a solenoid which is linked to a lever and shaft. When the solenoid, governed by the machine working cycle is energized, the two friction wheels come into contact with the lowest sheet and thus pull it out from underneath the stack. As it leves the tray, it is carried by transport ribbons to the required destination.
