An alcohol of the formula CH3-(CH2)n-OH, in which n is zero, 1 or 2, is added to human blood plasma, from which the coagulation factors have been removed, in the presence of albumin-stabilising substances and in the neutral pH range. Subsequently, chemical precipitation of the globulins takes place with breaking of covalent and secondary valent linkages of the globulin molecules while heating at 60 - 75 DEG C. After the reaction, the mixture is cooled, acidified to a pH of about 4 and the precipitate which has formed then removed. The albumin is then separated from the resulting solution with the aid of precipitants. The precipitation of the globulins preferably takes place in the presence of about 9% by volume of ethyl alcohol. |
