A display apparatus for a number of flexible sheets or the like such as posters, advertisement sheets, film sheets or textiles, which are intended to be shown one after the other in a hanging position with the upper edge of each sheet attached to a moveable holder. The holders are carried in a driven endless conveyor with a forward upwardly moving portion and a rear downwardly moving portion. A return roller is rotatably mounted at the upper reversing point of the conveyor so that the holders with sheets can pass over this roller. The driving of the conveyor is synchronized with the driving of a mechanism for raising and lowering at least one feed roller or roll situated above the return roller. The feed roller is arranged to be driven at a substantially higher peripheral speed than the speed of the conveyor, and the feed roller is arranged to go into engagement with the respective sheet when the upper end of the sheet is at the upper reversing position so that the downwardly hanging portion of the sheet at the front portion of the conveyor is rapidly fed up between the feed roller and return roller and is transferred to a downwardly hanging position at the rear of the conveyor.
