1410063 Door operating devices FRANCE ARMED FORCES MINISTER OF 27 Nov 1972 [7 Dec 1971] 54762/72 Heading E2M [Also in Divisions F2 and E3] A quick-opening door 1, Fig 2, of a missile launching container is damped by a damping unit B connected to the door by means of a lever 3 which is pivotable about a fixed axis 26 such that the velocity ratio of the lever 3 varies with the extent to which the door is open, means being included in the damping unit B for locking the door in its open position. As shown the door 1 is slidably mounted on the lever 3 joined to a piston rod 6 of the damping unit which, when the door is opened by springs within the container, displaces oil through an orifice in a plate 11 to an accumulator 13 via a control unit C which comprises, Fig 6, a two-way valve 10H and a non-return valve 10C. Oil passing through the valve 10C flows to the rear of the piston to lock the door in its open position, some of the oil also flowing via a valve 19 to a reservoir 17. To reclose the door 1, a pump 18 delivers oil from the reservoir 17 to the front of the piston and to the valve 10C, to unseat the latter, via the valve 10H whereby oil escapes from the rear of the piston to the reservoir 17 via the valve 19 and a line 15. In a modification, Figs 8,: 9 (not shown), the door I is mechanically locked by a pivotal spring-biased lever (22) and is closed manually. In a final embodiment, Figs 10, 11 (not shown), the door is similarly mechanically locked and is reclosed hydraulically after the lever (22) is disengaged by an hydraulically operated actuator (21). |
