Quasi-continuous multiplier of two frequencies - uses pulse trains and has input, oscillator, switches, counter, gate and output

Periodically during a first period of a given length the first pulse train is registered in a bi-directional counter on an ascending basis. During a second period of a given length, the counter registers on a descending basis by means of an auxiliary pulse train of constant frequency and on reaching the zero position the counter stops. During the negative registration the second pulse train is connected through to the output. The inputs of a bi-directional counter (3) are connected via gates (5 or 4) to an oscillator (2) and an input (1) for a first pulse train (f1). Its frequency is multiplied by the frequency of a second pulse train (f2).
