An endless magnetic tape (12) is inserted in commercially available cassette. The tape is switched off by means of mechanical control strip or a reflecting aluminium strip (3) which acts in conjunction with a light barrier. A contact bridge ensures in conjunction with two pressure elements that in this spot the magnetic tape (12) runs parallel with the upper section of the cassette and close contact is made with the two contact brackets. The tape reel is positioned approximately between two rollers and this ensures that the tape moving in either direction to and from the contact bridge is protected.
