<p>There are provided novel antistatic carpet yarns and carpets as well as novel compositions of matter and methods for the chemical treatment of carpet yarns and carpets in order to impart to such textile materials substantially durable hydrophilic, soil-repellency and antistatic properties that will be retained despite rigorous exposure to washing, foam, vacuum and steam cleaning, and wear under high compression loads (or foot-traffic), without any adverse effect on dyestuffs or flammability.
